5 Steps to Design a High-Quality Professional Looking E-book Cover

An e-book is defined as a book, which is published in the electronic form, much like a Word Document. E-books can be delivered to any computer, provided that the computer is connected to the internet. Designing an e-book is not as daunting a task as it may seem. Following a methodical procedure and systematic thinking is the secret of designing highly professional looking e-books.

The cover of the e-book plays a pivotal role in determining its selling-power. It is important to remember that customers have no option but to judge your e-book by its cover! Of course the preview of the book is also important.
Here are 5 important tips to help you design your e-book cover:

1. The title of the e-book should grab eyeballs. It should make an impact. Two-part titles are a great tool in this case, because in the first part, you can state the basic aim of your e-book and in the second part, you can briefly elaborate on it.

2. Secondly, the Font used on the e-book cover is of great importance. It should be easy to read and clear. Fonts like Arial and Impact are the ideal choice. One can also mix two different fonts, but using more than two fonts can make it look cluttered and confusing, simply because e-book covers are pretty small.

3. Choice of Color plays a very important role. The more vibrant the cover, the greater the chances of your e-book catching on.

4. Adding an illustration to the e-book cover makes it all the more attractive. Just plain old text may not have as much selling potential as an image. Of course, the image must be relevant to your book title and its subject matter. Never use an image you find on the internet, no matter how suitable it is, because almost all the images on the internet are protected by copyrights.

5. Moreover, the image quality must be sharp and clearly visible so that the customers can view it without a hitch. This can be accomplished by designing an image which is larger than the final size of the image. Reducing its size in the final stage enhances its clarity.

Hopefully, these tips will help you design your next e-book.
